Apprentice jockey Katelyn Mallyon has been cleared of a broken ankle after an incident at Caulfield trackwork on Tuesday morning.
Mallyon underwent scans at The Alfred Hospital after falling from a horse in the Caulfield tunnel, before the animal stepped on her ankle.
The early suspicion was that Mallyon had broken her ankle, but Racing Victoria’s jockey wellbeing and safety officer Ron Hall confirmed scans cleared her of such an injury.
Mallyon recently rode a winning treble at Caulfield to move her to within two wins of outriding her claim with her apprenticeship due to finish at the end of August.
