Racing NSW stewards will hear final submissions in the cobalt case against trainer Sam Kavanagh on Thursday.
Six people have been charged in the case sparked by the presence of caffeine and elevated cobalt levels in a sample taken from the Kavanagh-trained Midsummer Sun after he won the Gosford Cup in January.
They include Flemington Equine Clinic vet, Dr Tom Brennan, who has also been charged in Victoria over cases against Danny O’Brien and Kavanagh’s father, Mark Kavanagh.
Sam Kavanagh has named Brennan as his source of Vitamin Complex, a supplement found to contain large amounts of cobalt.
