Dual Group One winner Trust In A Gust will miss the spring to undergo surgery to have a bone chip removed.
Trainer Darren Weir ordered tests on the five-year-old after his disappointing seventh in the Aurie’s Star Handicap earlier this month.
“Sadly injury has sidelined Trust In A Gust for the spring, with revised plan to re-launch for autumn 2016,” Weir tweeted.
Trust In A Gust has won 10 of his 19 starts including the Group One double of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and Toorak Handicap last spring.
