Muhaarar has sealed the his place as Europe’s top sprinter by adding the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville to his Group One wins in the Commonwealth Cup and July Cup.
The Charlie Hills-trained colt overpowered Esoterique and Gordon Lord Byron to win Sunday’s race by half a length.
Hills has enjoyed a memorable summer with his sprinters in particular, this triumph coming hot on the heels of Magical Memory’s success in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood.
