Legendary racehorse trainer Bart Cummings will be farewelled with a state funeral in Sydney on Monday.
People from all walks of life are set to gather at St Mary’s Cathedral to farewell Cummings, who died aged 87 on August 30.
It comes after a week of tributes, including many racegoers paying homage to him at Randwick on Saturday.
One of Australia’s most successful racehorse trainers, Cummings won the Melbourne Cup a record 12 times, and garnered another 256 Group One trophies, a number bettered only by the late TJ Smith.
